After recieving a request for a pink knitted donkey I was a little concerned as i have only done bears before. I had no pattern but by mixing a few togther and by using some of my own initiative She slowly came together. I am really pleased with the result and so was the customer. Only problem was i didnt want to part with her.

Also as you can see from the photos, Holly our collie cross was a little jealous.

Hi, I know I keep disappearing but life just keeps getting too busy. Yes it is that season for spooky items and this year as well as my own creations my husband has also joined in and whether i want to admit it or not he has done a pretty good job. I have included pics of my own work and of his amazing wands, wizards staffs and brooms. We are still working on more designs and are aiming to put them on my web site, ebay and Folksy. Hope you like them. Oh I suppose i should say that they are all 1/12th scale

Hi, yes im still here. Been so busy with working part time, setting up a shop, being mum and wife, craft fair dolls house fairs, crochet, crochet crochet, minis, minis. Oh and maybe some house work somewhere. Just thought id touch base wilst waiting for supper to cook. Here are some cute pictures of my latest amigurumi, these are not minis about 7cm. Oh Yes some pin cushions as well. Ive just finished them and put them on my Folksy site

Not quite there yet but i have been really lucky to have the furniature donated from a friend who didnt want it. I know my ceiling isnt in and it all still needs a lick of paint but how could i refuse such a generous offer. Im back and determined to make this a good year. busy trying to get myself a workroom sorted so i can try and turn my hobby into a business. Here are some pics of our cellar at the moment, so as you can see lots of hard work before any crafting, at least it does have central heating though and belive it or not this is already an improvement. sara x

If you havent already visited the AIM site it is a treat that you are missing. I am lucky enough to be an AIM member and i have also have articles of mine included. This month they have also done an advent calander a door each day to open with a free mini project behind. I was excited to find that my cross stitch Christmas angel was in door number 2. Snow days

For some of you the amount of snow is laughable but when you come from and area that snow is rare you can see why ours has caused excitement.

Most years we get a bit but usually not more than a couple of inches but this year it certainly came down and brought much of the UK to a standstill. Here are some pictures of the snow and of Holly who absolutely loves it. We have had more snow since the pictures and the weather people say more may be on its way. The kids have been happy though as there has been no school. Sara x :o)

At the moment we are preparing o go to the Whitby Goth weekend over Halloween and im madly making vampire, steampunk and goth clothing. Thank goodness for charity shops for some of it. Both my daughter and myself are having little top hats, that i am making and Charlotte thought it would be funny to put one on the dog. I dont think the dog thought it was funny. Take a look. Sort of got revenge on Charlotte though as she had not long since crawlled out of bed when the picture was took. lol.

Look what i've got!!!!!

Had to show you my recent purchases one i got a week a go and the other this morning. I've been part Christmas shopping with one of each of these items for myself the others for my daughter for Christmas. Ive been waiting all day for her to go out as she was not at collage today to take the pictures. lol.

The first picture is of two beautiful pendents from Myrate, http://www.myrate.es/ she is a fellow blogger that translates her amazing paintings into various forms of wearable items.

And the second set of pics will certainly make the miniaturists out there jealous, these beautiful hats are of course from Kat the Hat Lady. The pink one is mine and the black/ goth style is for my daughter. Kat has made this to order for me and i couldnt wait to open the box, thanks Kat

This the second year that we have grown pumpkins on our allotment and we have been very pleased with the results. Not as many athis year but still done well. Some will be saved for Halloween and some for pumkin soup. Would be interested if anyone has other recipes, particularly pumpkin pie as this is not an item we eat in the UK. Sara x :)

Noticed the crowns posted which are so sweet and it reminded me i have not shown any of you my mini tiaras. The tiaras were the item that made me decide to set up as a little business and i feel are one of my signature peices. So heres some pics, hope you like them. These are all hand made using wire and tiny beads. The pictures just show the basic design and colour. I know have some with roses in but not taken any pics yet.

Actually got something made, it's 1/12th scale linen basket made from plastic canvas and thread, it has a cotton floral lining and i have sewn a beed on top. Thankyou to Jane Laverick a fellow AIM member who kindly gave me some of her canvas to give it a go. Im pleased witht the results and will definately do some more to sell on my site and at fairs. Going to do diff colours.

My son keeps reminding me that when i have 100 followers i have to do a givaway and i may add one of these basket as part of it. 20 more to go!!

Hi just a quick moan really! Not feeling to well today and everything i try to make goes wrong. Tried stitching and i keep miss counting, decided to make bits with fimo and it just keeps going too soft on me , I dont know if its cos its a new pack or that im quite warm myself. On top of this both kids are not well and its my birthday tomorrow. Going to stop moaning now that never solves anything, think positive, i need to feel better for Sunday as i am visiting miniatura at the NEC as a birthday treat, really looking forward to it. Im having a cup of tea now and then im going to have a rest for a while. Sara x:o)

Holly's story, Many Tears Animal Rescue

After noticing one of my fellow bloggers Debbie had the Many Tears Animal rescue on her site i contacted her to see if she also had a dog from them. (thankyou for your reply Debbie) This made me think that i also should add them to my site. First i decided to tell you about Holly. Last year we nursed a very sick and old german shepherd until the day in September when we had no choice but to call the vet to our home to put her to rest. After this emotional time, we said no more dogs because i didnt want to go through that again. Time passed but my grieving didnt, i missed her company so much. In the November my husband started to look on rescue sites, supposedly just looking, whilst looking over his shoulder i saw her and knew. As soon as i saw her, we started to get details of the centre, when we found out they we in Wales(uk) and that we are 6 hours drive north my husband thought i was mad. I couldnt stop thinking about her so we applied to be adoptors, we passed that and then 3 days before christmas we travelled the 6 miles there and 6 back in the snow. We dont get snow very often but it really came down. I know they say dont get pups at christmas and this is right but we had not planned it that way. As we entered the foster home and saw her runing to us it was love at first sight. Holly and her siblings had been found in a bin bag ( i really cant understand some people) in Ireland and then rescued and brought to Wales. Many Tears dont usually allow christmas adopting but with the amount of pups coming to them they didnt have much choice. Holly was so good coming home and has continued to be a good pup, not even chewing much, and she was already totally house trained. She is much loved and spoilt by us and freinds and she loves everyone back. Kara our shepherd will never be forgotten and we have planted a red rose bush where she is buried in our garden but holly has helped me feel whole again. Sara x

I decided as everyone else was having a go that so would i. Im not at any stretch of the imagination good at working with fimo but i do play with it for little bits like the candy canes and those will be angel heads, will show you the finished article later. I dont even have any tools for it so i rely on the fimo, my fingers and anything i can find around the house or in my craft box. I am really proud of my little pumpkin as it is the first one i have made. could anyone give me some advice though, do i varnish it or something?

Mini Amigurumi

I haven posted for the last couple of days except to welcomes because i have wanted to finish a challenge i gave myself. As you know i only started crocheting about 5 months ago and my ultimate aim was to miniaturise. Practising on larger and then trying to scale down. Well i think ive done it and im so proud of my new teddy. Hope you like her as much as i do. I dont think i can go any smaller though or at least not without a lot more practice, i have sore fingers.

Oh and by the way do you like the chair, i picked up 3 of them from a local charity shop for £2.50, not bad i thought.

Just got my Dolls House World Magazine for October and i have had my first regular feature in it called Twelfth Scales, on page 20 and 21. It is a chat/ project section and i am very pleased with the results.

Just finished my first peice of crochet using a smaller hook and i am pleased with the result. As you know a lot of my crochet is based on the Amigurumi style and this is the method i have used here. I do think he is cute though and i think i can say this is 1/12th scale or 1/24th if you want a big pumpkin. The pumpkin will be on my site priced at £3.50 plus p&p. My fingers are a bit sore and working in this proportion is fiddely (don't know if that is the correct spelling) but it has made me want to try more, so keep watching.

Thomas and Charlotte (My children)

After being bumper to bumper on the motorway finally arrived at our destination Bosworth Battlefield to see the 525th anniversary re-enactment of the Battle of Bosworth. Thankfully we hadn't missed much when we met up with my sister Kate and her family. The weather was beautiful and the kids enjoyed themselves although fell asleep in the car on the way back, but so did i (I wasn't driving you will be glad to know). Thought i would share some photos with you.

Well my first crochet mini. I used the same pattern for both the big and the small and this is the difference it made, using a smaller hook and thread I managed to reduce down to this size and for my first attempt I am pleased. Had some advice though and my hook needs to be smaller so I can reduce even further. This months crafting treats are hooks and cottons.

Poppy the only one who likes the dog, well sort of and Jack and thai.

They are all family, Jack and Thai are father and daughter and poppy is a cousin

And here is Holly, shes about 10 months now we travelled to Wales to collect her 3 days before Christmas from Many tears animal sanctuary, who i have to say are amazing. I know they say dont buy a dog at christmas but it just turned out that way after our dog Kara of ten years had to be put to sleep.
Holly is a collie cross we were told but as she and her siblings were just found in a bin bag (disgusting i know) we will never really know what she is apart from very loved.

Cup of tea at last

Finished at last! i've been trying to complete my submission for Dolls House World Mag and its been one distraction or another. Finished now though so having a cup of tea and some biscuits and writting this. Not be resting for long though as the cats and dog are staring at me because its nearly tea time and the kids want pizza.

The pictures i am putting on are the final item for my designs for the mag. You will find the patterns in the next issue and i will be putting the finished items on my site
